Welcome to ICO world
An Initial Coin Offering (ICO) is a fundraising method commonly used by startups and projects in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space. It's similar to an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the traditional financial world but with key differences tailored to the decentralized nature of cryptocurrencies. How ICOs Work: Whitepaper Creation: A company or project team creates a detailed whitepaper explaining the concept, technology, goals, and use cases of their cryptocurrency or blockchain-based product. The whitepaper also outlines the ICO's terms, including the number of tokens to be sold, the funding goal, and the timeline. Token Issuance: The project issues digital tokens, usually on a blockchain platform like Ethereum, using smart contracts. These tokens can represent various things, such as a stake in the project, utility within the platform, or potential future value. Fundraising: The ICO is launched, and investors can purchase these tokens using established cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum. The price of the tokens may be fixed or fluctuate based on demand. The funds raised are typically used to develop the project further. Post-ICO: Once the ICO ends, the tokens are distributed to investors, and they can trade them on cryptocurrency exchanges if the tokens are listed. The project team then uses the funds to achieve the goals set out in the whitepaper.
